It was a dark day. Not in the least because of the total eclipse, yet because of the eclipse. The eclipse of the heart.

It was a mundane drive back from the dentist when she decided that she didn’t want to do this any more. She didn’t want to be the person whose heart was branded with “what if”. It had been writing on the wall for decades now. But something about that mundane drive reminded her how futile it was. The total eclipse came and lifted but the eclipse of her heart stayed. Her world may take more than 24 hours to rotate. Some day, there will be light again. For now, there’s total eclipse.
